Why I LOVE Cross Country Season:

  • Unlike soccer moms and dads, the cross country moms and dads actually acknowledge me, talk to me, and act like I exist. This is definitely a plus.
  • John is running with the when he comes home at the end of the day, he doesn't HAVE to go back out and run.
  • The runners, both high school and middle school, are great kiddos. They are polite, and for the most part, they are very responsible and respectful. I am almost positive that this bullet point is directly related to the first one.
  • The runners are goal-setters and are disciplined enough to progress toward their goals.

Maggie has been going to the middle school practices with her daddy. She has been running 2-3 miles twice a week and doing a pretty good job with it. The other runners are so great with her--encouraging her along the way, running with her--basically treating her very well. She is always so excited when she comes home after practice. It will change a little when dance starts back, and she will only run with the team one night a week, but I am sure she'll continue to give it her all. She ran the time trials today and came in ahead of some of the about an excited little girl. Love, love, love her.
